Ice Rescue - Awareness

INTRODUCTION TO ICE RESCUE | 4 hours

This course is designed to educate you about the hazards of frozen bodies of water. This course provides information for individuals who will not be on the ice but need to understand the complexities of working and rescuing on it. Targeted toward Law Enforcement Officers, Incident Command, Medical Personnel and Dispatchers.

Ice Rescue - Technician

SPECIALIZED COURSE | EMERGENCY RESPONDERS | 16 Hours

During the Technician level course, you will learn the unique challenges and problems associated with rescues on and around the ice. Some of the skills taught are self rescue techniques, rescuer safety, pre-planning and size-up of ice rescue incidents, and victim rescue. Rescuers are also taught how to determine ice strength, pros and cons of various ice rescue equipment, how to recognize and deal with cold stress and hypothermia, and how to package and transport patients. You will participate in various self and victim rescue drills and scenarios during the on ice training day.  This course can also be tailored to field technicians and workers.

Ice Rescue - Specialist

SPECIALIZED COURSE | EMERGENCY RESPONDERS | 8 or 24 Hours

This can be taught as a 8 hour add on for current technician or as a 24 hour course for those who have not had the Technician course. The specialist module covers the considerations, skills, and techniques you will need to handle ice rescues on large volume rivers with open leads.
