River Rescue Advanced is THE STANDARD for river trip expeditions and Trip Leaders around the world.
This two day course builds upon the skills you learned in River Rescue. The River Rescue Advanced course further develops your water rescue skills, including advanced entrapment techniques, complex rescues in bigger rapids, how to solve access issues through basic raising and lowering techniques, and night rescue considerations. Through challenging scenarios and drills, the swiftwater skills taught in the advanced rescue course emphasize rescue and recovery, leadership, and decision making in stressful situations.
Following an advanced course you can also request to be assessed at the pro level. This is done throughout the course scenarios and with final testing at the end of the course. Those who are leaders throughout the course and have exemplary rescue skills and techniques will earn their River Rescue Pro Certification.

The River Rescue Advanced course is the best swiftwater course for dedicated river runners and guides. It has been developed over many years with continuing input from longtime river runners and guides from all over the world.
If you have taken a multiple Swiftwater or River Rescue Courses and feel ready to increase the challenge to your skills this is the course you are looking for.
Working through problems in small groups with limited equipment, leading dynamic rescues, stronger rope rescue skills, and night rescue considerations are a few examples of what you will add to your skill set.
This course is great for those who are seeking to become international rafting guides, expedition leaders, trip leaders, head river guides, and river operations managers.
For those seeking the pro certification, the ability to build mechanical advantage, self rescue, complex throwbagging, and leading rescues are some of the skills you will be assessed on.

This course requires all participants to have a previous river rescue certification or river focused swiftwater rescue course. Ideally candidates will also have multiple years of boating and/or guiding.
Arriving strong and with strong river skills will enhance your learning outcomes.

Certification for this course is through Sierra Rescue International.
Pro Level certification is only given to those who are assessed in addition to their participation in the course.

River Rescue Advanced offers the best training for professional river guides who want to have the skills and techniques needed to effect a rescue on their river trips. Having the ability to lead a rescue, effect an evacuation, and interface with outside rescue agencies are some of the skills taught in this course.

Once you have the skills from river rescue or another swiftwater rescue course River Rescue Advanced provides you hands on real life practice applying these skills. Private boaters on multi day river trips need to be self sufficient and capable of self rescue. Outside help is often to0 far away and may not have the skills needed to execute an efficient rescue.
The River Rescue Advanced course provides packrafters, kayakers and rafters an opportunity to learn advanced skills like operating in the dark, planning a search, additional rope skills, and leading small group rescues.

The River Rescue Advanced course builds on the skills learned in River Rescue certification. The primary goals of this advanced swiftwater rescue course are to further apply the skills in more challenging settings and scenarios. Additionally working at night and working through the skills needed to evacuate an injured person are taught. Do you have a professional approach to river running?
Are you very solid on your rescue and emergency leadership skills?
Do you have Wilderness or Urban medical training?
Do you have at minimum 3-4 seasons on the water?
